Blood in the Tears marks the final track on the regular edition of 2010′s The World Is A Thorn, Demon Hunter’s fifth full-length album, and is a criminally overlooked slower, but not too slow, ballad from the band. I love the feel of this song, which has a harsh tone to it while also remaining hopeful. It straddles an interesting line, as it talks about having love for your enemies and praying for them to know the pain of Christ suffering for them, just as they want to bring pain on others. This song also is interesting musically, it’s definitely not metal, but it sounds very different from their previous slower songs. It even uses autotune, and yet places it in the perfect spot to elevate the song.
