Ribcage by Demon Hunter, is a song from their 3rd monumental album, The Triptych, released in 2005.
Ribcage is classic Demon Hunter at their best, in my humble opinion. Just such an awesome sounding song, especially the way it starts out. Immense heaviness and absolutely awesome lyrics. The two verses are among my favorite Demon Hunter lyrics of all time! Absolutely fantastic! ENJOY!
Lyrics:
All hail the newborn sin
Reject the boundaries and soak the cancer in
Hope kills the filth you crave
So bleed the truth out and fall into that grave
Uphold the brand new sin
Accept the failure and refuse to rise above
Break through the ribcage
And tear the heart out from everyone you love
Over and over again
We’ll bury the shame underneath the lies we breathe
Over and over again
We’ll carry the blame for the hell we can’t leave
Show me
The path that leads into your mind
Release
The thoughts you locked deep inside
Show me
I’m the one who knew this pain
Release
Before you fall into this again
Behold the loyal slave
His rotting shell now a tomb where death can play
See how his pride caves in
Alone he fights to stop this dark decay
Feed, feed the lust you need
And fainter grows each plea from the skies above
Break through the ribcage
And tear the heart out from everyone you love
Over and over again
We’ll bury the shame underneath the lies we breathe
Over and over again
We’ll carry the blame for the hell we can’t leave
Show me
The path that leads into your mind
Release
The thoughts you locked deep inside
Show me
I’m the one who knew this pain
Release
Before you fall into this again
Building a life out of all that you hate
We see through the front you tried to create
The world you hoped for was only a fake
And just like the maggots you made this way
I know
About Demon Hunter Month
January 2013 is dedicated to the Christian metal band Demon Hunter, arguably my favorite band; and will feature songs from their entire catalog featured daily throughout the month, one a day. Whether you like metal, believe in God or not, check these songs out as you may be pleasantly surprised and hopefully you will discover some new-to-your-ears music to enjoy. Demon Hunter’s sound is extremely diverse, not all songs feature screams and growls, some are slow, sung ballads; others are heartfelt, all are deep with powerful lyrics that will make you think and ponder, as the sound takes you away.
